WAYPOINT COACHING . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Therapeutic Coaching in Exeter
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this therapy?
No. Waypoint Coaching is not therapy or mental health treatment. It combines psychological understanding with practical, future-focused support to help people create meaningful change.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No. Many clients have diagnoses, while others do not. Support is based on your experiences, needs and goals rather than diagnostic labels.
Can I come if I've already had therapy?
Absolutely. Many people come to Waypoint Coaching after therapy when they're ready to focus on what comes next.
Can my child attend alone?
Yes, where appropriate. The approach will always be discussed with both the young person and their parent or carer to ensure everyone understands the purpose and boundaries of the work. I am DBS checked and work with ages 14+.
Do you work online?
Yes. Sessions are available face-to-face in Exeter, online across the UK, or through a hybrid approach combining both.
How many sessions will I need?
Some people benefit from a small number of focused sessions. Others prefer longer-term support. We will regularly review progress and agree together what feels most useful.
Do you work with neurodivergent individuals and families?
Yes absolutely. I have extensive experience supporting autistic individuals, people with ADHD, DLD, Selective Mutism and their families using a neurodiversity-affirming approach.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is maintained except where there are concerns about somebody's safety or wellbeing, in line with safeguarding responsibilities and professional standards.
Is Waypoint an emergency or crisis service?
No. If you or a young person are at immediate risk, call 999, contact NHS 111, or call Samaritans on 116 123.
